Une plateforme en ligne pour le renouvellement des déclarations de véhicules

Le système de déclaration en ligne a été lancé ce jeudi 22 novembre 2018 à Réduit. C’est une grande innovation concernant le renouvellement des vignettes de la NTA par les automobilistes du pays. Ce système, concerne dans un premier temps les véhicules privés.

C’est le Premier ministre qui a procédé au lancement à l’auditorium Octave Wiehe à l’Université de Maurice. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth a parlé de l’accélération de la digitalisation de l’économie mauricienne au profit de tous les citoyens. Il a fait état de retard accumulé dans le passé, par rapport au train de la révolution numérique.

 

Rodrigues: Import of pesticides and other chemicals banned soon

Make plantations more “robust” and use more biological and natural control methods. The idea is to protect Rodriguans’ health and the Agriculture Commission wants to ban all imports of pesticides and other products in the 10th district.

From November 18 to 22, an exchange program titled “Support for strengthening the National Food Safety and Plant Health Protection Systems in Mauritius” was conducted to find ecological solutions to protect cultivation. The exercise, sponsored by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), sought to find solutions to day-to-day problems in the fields.

FAO and Ministry of Agro-Industry technicians were asked to review the situation. Their expertise helped to assess the situation of emerging diseases. More than 200 planters, chilli, banana and onion were mainly targeted by this workshop because they represent a high economic value. Last year, more than 213 tons of silt were exported to Mauritius. As for the onion, it represents 328 tons whereas the pepper amounts to 2.3 tons.

 

New Declaration of Assets Bill

Will the new asset declaration law make data public? The whole issue of this revision of the law through the New Declaration of Assets Bill addresses this issue. But it will always be impossible for the public to consult this information.

 

The bill, which aims to fight against the illicit enrichment of our elected representatives would be presented to the Council of Ministers today. A promise from the Prime Minister who promised to amend the law before the end of his term.

The New Declaration of Assets Bill replaces the one that exist since 1987. It is almost certain that elected representatives and advisers in particular will have to declare their assets, at the beginning and at the end of the mandate. Moreover, if currently the elected officials of Mauritius and Rodrigues, the municipal councilors and those of the district councils are only concerned, the new law should also affect senior officials, members of boards of directors and directors of parapublic bodies as well. A much wider field of action, especially as assets on behalf of wives, children and even grandchildren will be scrutinized.
