Health treatment abroad: More than Rs 39 million spent by the State from 2016 to 2017

More than Rs 39 million were disbursed from 2016 to 2017 to allow sick patients to receive treatment abroad. This is thanks to the signing of an agreement signed between the Ministry of Health and several countries, particularly India.

For the year 2017, some 200 patients have benefited from treatment abroad, all subsidized by the state. Patients with serious health problems, such as cancer and other conditions that can not be treated in Mauritius are eligible to receive this type of medical treatment.
