Les employés sont satisfaits de la compensation de Rs 360. Même si les syndicats ne le disent pas ouvertement, quand-même on sent une certaine satisfaction, car dans un contexte pareil, on ne pourrait pas s’attendre mieux. Surtout que l’année dernière la compensation était dérisoire, soit Rs 200 pour ceux touchant jusqu’à Rs 15,000 et pour les autres Rs 125.
Mauritius retains its first rank in overall governance in Africa according to the Mo Ibrahim Index of African Governance (IIAG) 2017. Mauritius got the highest overall score out of a total of 53 African countries. The four categories of governance as assessed by the Index are: safety and rule of law, participation and human rights, sustainable economic opportunity and human development.With a score of 81.4 for this year, Mauritius has experienced an increase of 3.1 since 2007. Seychelles comes second with a score of 73.4 while Botswana ranks third with a score of 72.7.
The 11th edition of the IIAG probes into the country and indicator trends over the last five years (2012-2016), within the context of the last decade (2007-2016).
The Equal Opportunities (Amendment) Bill was voted, with amendments, last night at the National Assembly. Summing up this bill, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth said that he is going much further than the government had planned in his election platform. And that many Mauritians can, through the proposed changes, find employment without being affected by a criminal record.
