May 2021: the second hottest month since 1960

May 2021 is the second hottest month on record since 1960, according to the Meteorological Station. During this month, new extreme temperatures were recorded at several sites. For example, 30.6 degrees in Pamplemousses, 32.6 degrees in Albion and 32.8 degrees in Port-Louis, the highest temperature.

Regarding rainfall, 170mm of rain has been recorded so far for the month of June. 120mm of rains are expected for July and 90mm for August.
