The Gross Official International Reserves1(GOIR) of the country increased by Rs 5.7 billion,from Rs 253.4billion as at end June2019 to Rs 259.1billion as at end-July2019.
Compared to a year ago, the GOIR rose by Rs 37.0 billion. Based on the value of imports of goods (f.o.b.) and services for calendar year 2018, the GOIR represented 12.1 months of imports as at end July2019 compared to 11.8 months as at end June 2019and10.4 months as at end-July 2018.
