The total number of confirmed cases in China rose to 4,515 as of January 27, compared to 2,835 the day before.China has tightened travel restrictions to try to curb the spread of the virus.
The country has postponed the start of the spring semester in schools, colleges, high schools, universities and higher education establishments in the country, the education ministry said on Tuesday. The coronavirus causes a severe acute respiratory infection and there is no specific cure or vaccine. Most of the deaths are due to elderly people or to preexisting respiratory problems.
