Six people die in drownings in the last 48 hours.

At Baie du Tombeau, a family outing turned to drama yesterday February 1st. Kendy Allagapen 26 years old and Stacy Germain 11 years old drowned. It took more than 2 hours for the police helicopter, National Coast Guard members and the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Service to search for Stacy Germain. While 27-year-old Steevie Germain was saved, she is admitted to intensive care.

A little earlier yesterday, at Trou aux Biches, Bruno Jonathan Botte drowned. He is a 25-year-old inhabitant of Riche Terre.

On Wednesday, January 31st, there were three other cases of drowning. The lifeless body of Javish Namjaun, 17 years old was drafted at Pont Anglais, Rivière des Créoles. In La Prairie, 49-year-old Goind Sooriah died when his fishing boat capsized. The corpse of a 50-year-old man was taken out from the Blue Bay Lagoon by elements of the National Coast Guard.
