Road victims decline in Mauritius

Statistics Mauritius has indicated that the number of people who died as a result of road accidents during the first semester of 2020 in Mauritius was 52 or -24.6% as compared to 69 during the corresponding period in 2019.

In its latest bulletin, this governmental institution added that among the casualties, the most vulnerable category of road users were riders/pillion riders of auto/motor cycles (26 or 50%), followed by pedestrians (12 or 23.1%).

NEW POSITIVE CASE OF COVID-19

Patient, Male, 38yrs, arrived in Mauritius on flight MK113 from London on the 30thof August 2020. Patient presented a negative PCR test result at port of embarkation. Test 0 upon landing in Mauritius was negative for COVID19. Positive COVID19 result obtained on day 7 test. Patient is asymptomatic and has been transferred to New ENT Hospital
