The overall unemployment rate is expected to decline from 6.9% in 2018 to 6.8% in 2019 and compared to 7.8% in 2014. The number of unemployed has gone down to 39,100 in the second quarter of 2019 as compared to 40,500 in the second quarter of 2018. As regards youth unemployment in the country, there has been a substantial drop in the unemployment rate from 27.5% in the second quarter of 2018 to 21.3% in the second quarter of 2019.
