Business Mauritius launches “BUROS” To prevent business risks

Business Mauritius has launched BUROS “Business Road Safety”, a long-term education and awareness program aimed at all companies in the country to encourage them to take the necessary measures to prevent road accidents.

The magnitude and complexity of road safety issues require us to act together. In addition to the unbearable human tragedies, road accidents can account for up to 3% of our GDP.

BUROS will be divided into three parts: 1) A proposal for a protocol to be adopted in companies for those who take the wheels for the missions they carry out , 2) A research and training component development to make contributions to the systemic framework regulating the sector , 3) Regular communications on the prevention of road risks related to the business world.

Business Mauritius will send its members a protocol to guide companies on the rules of which apply to all types of business trips. The purpose of the Protocol is to encourage change in road safety behaviors among business leaders and employees. This protocol includes 5 poles of intervention, ranging from the verification of the state of the vehicle, the optimization of the physical state and the concentration of the driver, the planning of the displacements and the good reflexes to have in case of accident, among others.

This protocol is a facilitation tool to encourage companies to commit and implement concrete measures that generate good practices for all their employees. Business Mauritius also encourages its members to take note of the “Road Risk Prevention Charter” developed by the authorities.
